'Lincoln,' 'Les Miserables,' 'Silver Linings Playbook' lead SAG awards

LOS ANGELES

The nominees were announced Wednesday morning in Los Angeles by actors Taye Diggs and Busy Philipps.

The SAG Awards honor the best in both television and film, and both individual performances and ensembles.

Big screen nominees include the casts of "Argo," ''The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," ''Les Miserables," ''Lincoln" and "Silver Linings Playbook."

"Silver Linings Playbook" also had lead-acting nominations for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.

In addition to Lawrence, best-actress nominees are Jessica Chastain in "Zero Dark Thirty," Marion Cotillard in "Rust and Bone," Helen Mirren in "Hitchcock" and Naomi Watts in "The Impossible."

Joining Cooper in the best-actor field are Daniel Day-Lewis in "Lincoln," Hugh Jackman in "Les Miserables," John Hawkes in "The Sessions" and Denzel Washington in "Flight."

On the TV side, outstanding drama series cast nominees include, "Boardwalk Empire," "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey," "Homeland" and "Mad Men."

Nominations for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series went to "30 Rock," "The Big Bang Theory, "Glee," "Nurse Jackie," "The Office" and "Modern Family."

The SAG Awards are scheduled to be presented Jan. 27. The guild nominations are one of Hollywood's first major announcements on the long road to the Feb. 24 Academy Awards, whose nominations will be released Jan. 10.

Nominations for the Golden Globes, the second-biggest film honors after the Oscars, come out Thursday.
