The 19-year-old freshman at Arizona State University was last seen two weeks ago at a fraternity party in Tempe. He did not take his cellphone and credit cards.
A body was found in the Salt River north of Tempe on Sunday. The man was wearing a single red shoe, leading to the strong possibility that this is the missing student. His mother says she found one of his tennis shoes in a riverbed near the bar.
A coroner is expected to make a positive ID as early as Monday.
