Palm Springs man arrested for threatening Palm Springs High School students

December 27, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
An 18-year-old man from Palm Springs was arrested on Dec. 18, accused of using a friend's Facebook account to post a threat against Palm Springs High School.

Detectives say David Torres's post said: "I'm going to kill everyone at PSHS tomorrow so stay home, I got a gun."

Torres is not a student at the school. Police said it was a prank.

Torres was charged Wednesday with making criminal threats, a felony that could land him in prison for up to three years if convicted.
