A so-called "maternity hotel" in Chino Hills has been shut down after city officials obtained a temporary restraining order.

The maternity hotel is located in an upscale residential neighborhood and allegedly housed 30 women who traveled from China to give birth to American citizen babies.

Chino Hills officials said the city obtained the a temporary restraining order for code enforcement violations.

The order prevents Los Angeles Hermas Inc., Hai Yong Wu and Yi Wang from occupying the house, operating it as a hotel or performing any construction on it without a permit. They are due in court Jan. 17.
