Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain films take top 2 spots at box office

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES

Supernatural horror flick "Mama" took the No. 1 spot and features Chastain as Anabel, the aunt of two little girls who somehow survived in alone the wilderness for at least five years. Or were they alone? The scary movie brought in just over $28 million in its opening weekend.

Chastain also stars in the hunt for Osama bin Laden in "Zero Dark Thirty," which held strong in the No. 2 spot with $17.6 million.

"Silver Linings Playbook" came in third with $11.4 million, while "Gangster Squad" and "Broken City" rounded out the top 5.

"The Last Stand," Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest box office attempt, opened with a mere $6.3 million, although it was enough to edge it to the No. 10 spot. Still, it is one of the worst debuts for the once dependable action star.
