Malibu Captain Joseph Stephen is accused by a female deputy of sexual misconduct. The sheriff's department said Stephen had decided to retire but had not gone through the process. The department subsequently relieved Stephen of duty.
Stephen denies the allegations. He said he was never the woman's direct supervisor.
A sheriff's captain and a retired department chief were also being investigated in connection to the allegations.
