Ventura man stabbed, robbed; suspect sought

VENTURA, Calif.

The incident happened around 6:48 p.m. near the 2800 block of East Main Street.

According to police, the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the suspect who demanded money. When the victim refused to hand over the money, the suspect pushed the victim who then fell to the ground.

A fight ensued between both parties during which the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Community Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released a short time later.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
