Highest gas prices in California are in LA County, AAA says

PASADENA, Calif.

Los Angeles County now has the highest gas in the state, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. Regular unleaded is averaging $4.26 per gallon, up 12 cents from last week.

In Orange and Ventura counties, drivers are paying $4.24. In the Inland Empire, motorists are ponying up $4.21.

Experts say reduced supplies in Southern California due to refinery maintenance and rising oil prices are to blame. The stinging spike at the pump also means other goods and services will likely increase as well as the costs are passed on to consumers.

"It's very frustrating. Actually, (I own) a trucking company, so I'm just going to raise my fuel prices to you guys, so every time you go to the market, think about me because I'm going to raise it 32 percent starting Monday," said Raymond Case of Pasadena.
