Jermaine Jackson has legally changed his surname to Jacksun.

On Friday, February 22, a Los Angeles judge approved the singer's request to change his last name from Jackson to Jacksun, according to documents obtained by OTRC.com. The 58-year-old did not appear in court.

Jacksun initially filed his request in November and, at the time, stated the name change was for "artistic reasons."

His attorney Bret D. Lewis told The Associated Press that Jacksun is in Europe performing with his brothers and told him that he was sure it was "a sunny day in California."

Jacksun rose to fame with his siblings, including brother Michael Jackson, in the group The Jackson 5. He wrote a book about Michael titled " You Are Not Alone: Michael, Through a Brother's Eyes," which was released in September 2011.
