$25K reward offered to catch driver who hit cyclist in Griffith Park

LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES

Damian Kevitt broke 20 bones in the collision and had to have his right leg amputated. Kevitt was riding westbound on Zoo Drive on Feb. 17 at about 11:35 a.m. when he was hit by a minivan.

The minivan had been stuck in slow-moving traffic and made a sudden left turn, striking Kevitt, who became lodged under the vehicle. The driver then reportedly accelerated and dragged Kevitt about 600 feet. The minivan drove southbound on the 5 Freeway. Kevitt was dragged onto the freeway.

Investigators say the minivan was possibly an older gray Toyota Sienna with a "for sale" sign in the rear window. The reward was officially announced Monday in Griffith Park.

Anyone with information related to the case was asked to call the California Highway Patrol at (323) 259-2010.
