Conrad Murray won't testify in Michael Jackson wrongful death trial

LOS ANGELES

Murray was supposed to be deposed Monday but has refused to answer any questions.

In a letter to Jackson's mother, Katherine, he also stated that he will plead the Fifth Amendment if called to the stand.

The pop icon's mother claims the company is liable for negligently hiring Murray to be the "Thriller" hitmaker's personal physician.

Jackson was set to perform 50 shows in London for AEG Live, but he died June 25, 2009, of acute propofol intoxication in Los Angeles while rehearsing for the concert series.

Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, convicted of having caused the singer's death by administering a deadly overdose.

He's currently serving a four year sentence in the Los Angeles County men's jail.
