South Cedar Avenue shooting in Brea kills man

BREA, Calif.

A shooting was reported at 9:40 p.m. Saturday on the 300 block of South Cedar Avenue, according to Brea Police.

Officers found the victim outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He had reportedly been shot inside the residence. He was transported to UCI Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Three people inside the residence were detained for questioning.

The victim was not immediately identified pending notification of next of kin. A motive for the shooting was not released.
