Jane Henson, Muppets co-creator, dies at 78

Jane Henson, co-creator of the Muppets, has died after a battle with cancer. She was 78.

Jane Henson died Tuesday at her home in Connecticut, according to The Jim Henson Co.

She and Jim Henson met at the University of Maryland in the 1950s and became business partners in the development of the Muppets.

The pair married in 1959 and had five children. They separated in 1986, and Jim Henson died in 1990.
