Sea lion pup jumps into San Diego man's car

SAN DIEGO

So imagine one driver's surprise when he stopped in San Diego for what he thought was a dog. It turns out it was a sea lion pup that desperately needed some help.

"I just kind of opened the door and got him over there, he ended up just jumping in the car, hung out in the front for a little bit, then went in the back," said Mike Belahunt, who found the pup.

Rescuers say the pup appears to be about 8 months old.

It's thin and dehydrated, but they hope to nurse it back to health.
