Superior Court Judge Terry Green ruled Friday that CBS and Clear Channel Outdoor must pull the plug on the billboards by 5 p.m. Monday. Clear Channel spokesman David Grabert said his company, which operated 67 of the signs, will take all legal steps to renew operation of the billboards.
Many of the billboards went up after the two companies struck a deal with the City Council in 2006. However, this drew protests from residents who say the brightly illuminated ads shine into their yards and homes.
The fate of 20 other digital billboards will be the subject of a hearing on Tuesday.
