Kobe Bryant's mom not allowed to auction athlete's memoribilia - judge

LOS ANGELES

A federal judge has ruled an auction house cannot sell or dispose of the items offered by the NBA star's mother, Pamela Bryant, while courts sort out where the case should be decided.

Pamela claims her son gave her permission to do what she wanted with his old things, including practice gear and jerseys. But Kobe says that's not so.

The auction house appraised Kobe's belongings at $1.5 million and already gave his mother a $450,000 advance.
