Daniel Cortes, 29, was arrested in Santa Ana Friday following a short pursuit.
Authorities believe Cortes is one of three suspects who broke into at least six churches in Anaheim, the Islamic Center in Irvine, and five businesses in Santa Ana. In each robbery, the suspects stole anything from computers to electronics to money from the safes.
On May 1, the three suspects were caught on surveillance camera as they stole approximately $15,000 from a safe at Forty Martyrs Armenian Church.
Following the release of the surveillance video, tips from the public led authorities to Cortes.
The other two suspects remain at large.
The second suspect was described as a white male about 40-45 years old, with a bald head, a mustache, medium build, wearing an olive green and white hooded jacket, blue jeans and black-over-white tennis shoes.
The third suspect was described as a possibly Hispanic man about 35-40 years old, with a goatee, thin build, wearing a light-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects or their whereabouts was urged to contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
