Newest 'Bachelorette' confident in each decision

LOS ANGELES

Desiree Hartsock was on "The Bachelor" last season but got the boot after bachelor Sean Lowe met her family. Now she's the one deciding who stays and who goes.

Twenty-five men are vying for the attention of the new bachelorette.

"Most of them were just really well-rounded, amazing men, but there are a few that slipped through the cracks and you'll be able to see," said Desiree.

Desiree has to knock out 10 guys in the first round.

"I gave everyone a chance so I sat down with everyone and talked to them before I made my decision," said Desiree.

While she's being pretty tight-lipped about her whole experience, Des did tell me she'd be OK if the man she loved was already a father.

"I always thought I knew what I wanted in my life but I think I learned and I realized what I actually need in my life," said Desiree. "And that was a huge learning curve for me."

Desiree's demise when she was on "The Bachelor" was not pretty. And she's OK with moments like that.

"I'm not afraid of the ugly cry or being emotional because it's real life," said Desiree.

"There's going to be a lot of dramatic moments," she said.

"Honestly, it's an expressive group. They're a little sensitive," said Desiree. "I was confident with each and every decision I made."

The two-hour season premiere of "The Bachelorette" airs at 8 p.m. Pacific Time on ABC7.
