A flight carrying former President George W. Bush was forced to make an emergency landing Saturday.

The former president was flying back on a jet from Philadelphia when the pilot smelled smoke in the cockpit.

The plane was diverted to Louisville, Ky., where the pilot landed safely.

No word on what caused the emergency has been released.

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford said the plane continued to Dallas after a brief stop. Ford said he never saw or smelled smoke.
