Family members received a phone call on Wednesday night from an unknown man saying he had 17-year-old Dalayshia Miles. They didn't recognize the man's voice, but they say they did recognize their daughter's voice in the background screaming for help.
"I just want her back home, and then I can feel relieved because this has been going on too long now, and I just need my daughter back home. I need her to be with me so I can breathe," said the teen's father, Dion Miles.
Miles says his daughter left their Inglewood apartment to meet her stepmom at nearby Darby Park. He left their apartment a few minutes later to catch up with them, and in that 10-minute time frame, Dalayshia had disappeared.
Police are concerned for her safety. She also needs her medication. Her parents say she's schizophrenic and bi-polar.
Police believe Dalayshia Miles and the suspect are traveling in a white SUV or van. The search is currently focused on the Long Beach area and Inglewood.
The teen is described as a black female about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair, possibly dyed red. She also goes by the nicknames Bubbles or Diamond.
