TOLUCA LAKE, LOS ANGELES

Curtis Jackson, who performs under his stage name 50 Cent, allegedly injured a former girlfriend and destroyed $7,100 in property on June 23 at a Toluca Lake condominium, the city attorney's office said.

LAPD officers responded to a report of domestic violence on June 23. Jackson was at a female acquaintance's condo when an argument began. The woman is a former girlfriend and they have a child together. The woman locked herself in a bedroom, and Jackson allegedly kicked in the door and kicked her, causing injury, according to the city attorney's office.

Officers found broken chandeliers and broken furniture throughout the condo, as well as a ransacked closet, a broken television and broken lamp.

Jackson, 37, was not at the location when officers arrived.

Jackson has been charged with five criminal counts including one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism. If convicted on all counts, Jackson could face up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines, according to the city attorney's office.

Jackson is scheduled to be arraigned on July 22 at the Van Nuys Superior Court.
