The Mall of Victor Valley locked its doors Wednesday night due to reports of unruly crowds in the area, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Dept.

Law enforcement officers from multiple station responded to a rally at the mall.

A crowd of approximately 80 moved eastbound on Bear Valley Road in Victorville. Most were peaceful and law-abiding, according to the department.

About 10 to 15 juveniles reportedly entered a Chevron gas station at Bear Valley and Balsam roads, opened items and left without paying.

A large group of individuals in the parking lot of the Victor Valley Mall began running and attempted to enter the mall. Security officers locked all the doors to the mall before they made entry. Some reportedly jumped on vehicles near a Red Lobster restaurant.

Seventeen people were arrested, eight of them juveniles. Many of the arrests were for unlawful assembly.
