Film academy names Cheryl Boone Isaacs as president

The organization's board of governors voted her to the position on Tuesday night.

Boone Isaacs is the first woman to hold the post in three decades, and she is the first African-American president in the academy's 86-year history.

She has been part of the Academy for 21 years. She has also served as producer for past Governors Balls on Oscar Sunday.
