Paralyzed vet gets high-tech chair to boost mobility, independence

LANCASTER, Calif.

Veteran Jerral Hancock took his first spin on his new Action Track Chair as family, friends and those who helped get the special vehicle cheered him on at a gathering in Lancaster on Saturday.

The chair will allow Hancock more mobility. He is paralyzed from the chest down and lost his left arm. The Brotherhood of Tankers and Operation All the Way Home made it possible.

"It's going to change my quality of life big time, get me places I haven't been in years or a decade, a long time," said Hancock.

As his first trip out, Hancock says he wants to take his "tank" to the beach. Hancock is a single father, raising son Julius and daughter Anastasia.
