Southern California Edison says it has restored power to 80 percent of customers who were left in the dark after some serious storms in the Inland Empire.

Heavy rain, thunder and lightning hit the area, including Highland, on Monday.

At one point, more than 100,000 people were left without power because of the storms. Nearly 40 crews are working to restore power.

Lightning is believed to have struck at least one power transformer.

It's not yet known when power will be restored to all customers.
