Eastvale woman killed in possible murder-attempted-suicide

EASTVALE, Calif.

Sheriff's deputies say a man came to a home in the 6500 block of Wells Spring Street to visit his parents shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. He walked inside and found his mother and father, both in their 50s, badly injured on the floor.

The man dialed 911, and medics rushed to the scene. Authorities pronounced the mother dead. The father was rushed to an area hospital with severe injuries but is expected to survive. Investigators say both were suffering from stab wounds.

Detectives say this was a domestic crime. They believe the husband killed his wife and tried to take his own life.

The police presence woke up neighbors.

"It's scary, because sometimes, I'm by myself here, but you know, I feel sorry for these people," said area resident Marilyn Sevilla.

Wells Spring Street was shut down for more than 12 hours, disrupting the quiet, upper-middle-class community.

"It's kind of a surprise, because our neighborhoods are so quiet, and this is such a good community," sand another neighbor, Mackenzie Bueno.

The names involved in this incident were not immediately released. Detectives are still trying to figure out a motive in this case. They're waiting for the husband to recover in the hospital before questioning him.
