Bruno Mars to perform at Super Bowl halftime, says AP source

LOS ANGELES

No official announcement has been made but the official word is expected to come at an event in New York's Time Square Sunday.

The "Treasure" hitmaker will hit the stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

The event is the most watched musical event of the year, drawing in more than 100 million television viewers.

Stars like Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake have graced the stage on football's biggest night in the past.

Mars is one of pop's top acts with several No. 1 hits including his most recent, "When I Was Your Man." He is also known for hits like "Just The Way You Are" and "The Lazy Song."
