Authorities say on May 31, 2011, two suspects posing as law enforcement officers entered a residence in the 2600 block of South Alma Street at about 10:30 a.m. Once inside the home, the suspects opened fire on 31-year-old Amado Lozano of San Pedro.
Lozano died of multiple gunshot wounds. A motive in the case is unknown.
According to LAPD Detective Wallace Tennelle, the reward has been extended by the City Council a number of times since the shooting occurred. It is now set to expire in mid-November.
Both suspects were described as a Hispanic male, between the age of 25 to 30, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
