The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. near 10077 Sunland Boulevard.
About 100 firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department battled the blaze. Three helicopters were also brought in to make water drops. The fire was knocked down an hour later.
Flames damaged two vehicles. Structures were threatened but not damaged.
No injuries were reported.
