San Gabriel Valley school lockdowns: Monrovia man charged

LOS ANGELES

Prosecutors on Thursday charged Gerardo Cortez, 26, with making criminal threats and falsely reporting an emergency.

The threats began Sept. 9 and continued over the course of several days. Three schools, four hospitals and a mall went on lockdown after calls containing violent threats.

Bail is set at $300,000. Cortez is due back in court in two weeks.
