Ventura teenage boy's scooter stolen; suspect sought

VENTURA, Calif.

The 14-year-old boy was riding his scooter in the 1000 block of South Seaward Avenue around 8:20 p.m. when a man approached him. Ventura police said the suspect grabbed the scooter and forced it from the victim's hands.

The suspect then got into a light-colored SUV that took off northbound. Officers searched the area for the suspect and vehicle, but neither was located.

The teenager was not hurt. He described the suspect as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 pounds, with shoulder-length light-brown or blond hair. He was also described as wearing an orange-and-white striped shirt and tan cargo shorts.
