Camp Pendleton brush fire 67 percent contained

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif.

The fire burned 2,236 acres and was 67 percent contained Monday night.

All evacuation orders were lifted Sunday night, allowing about 230 residents to return to their housing unit near Lake O'Neil. About 30 patients were also evacuated from Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton due to a power outage, but they have also returned to the facility.

The blaze erupted Saturday afternoon. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Full containment was expected by Tuesday, according to Camp Pendleton officials.
