Camp Pendleton brush fire: Evacuations lifted

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif.

More than 200 people were forced out of their homes and about 30 patients were evacuated from a hospital at the military base after the fire broke out Saturday afternoon.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, the fire has scorched around 2,236 acres of dry brush and was 93 percent contained.

Officials say four modular temporary buildings and three vehicles were damaged in the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
