Oxnard police responded to the 1100 block of South L Street around 10:50 p.m. regarding a suspicious death. When they arrived, officers found the 49-year-old man dead inside the residence. His name was not released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators determined the man was the victim of a homicide, police said. A 17-year-old Oxnard resident was determined to be a suspect and was arrested.
A motive was not immediately determined, but police said they do not believe the homicide was a random act. The cause of death was not released.
