District of Columbia police say the two men punched a man who tried to take a picture with Brown at the hotel early Sunday morning.
The judge has also ordered Brown to meet with his probation officer in California before Wednesday night.
Hours before the confrontation, Brown performed at a Washington D.C. nightclub. Police say that around 4:30 a.m., 20-year-old Isaac Parker tried to get in a photo that Brown was taking with two other people. That's when Brown and his bodyguard, Chris Hollosy, allegedly punched Parker in the face.
According to the police report, Brown reportedly said, "I'm not into that gay [expletive]. I feel like boxing."
Brown's camp claims the altercation resulted when Parker tried to board their tour bus. Dozens of Brown's fans were camped outside the back entrance of the courthouse awaiting his release.
Some fans admit he may have overreacted, but they're standing by their idol.
"He does have to take responsibility because he shouldn't have gotten that angry. But the person who got in the picture, it wasn't his picture so he should have just minded his business," said fan Chekyra Ford.
Brown could see the inside of a jail cell yet again. The latest charge could violate the terms of his probation from the 2009 beating of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
"The D.A.'s office here would have to prove that the crime actually occurred in Washington D.C. before his probation could be violated, so it's not automatic," said legal analyst Dana Cole.
Brown has had other recent legal problems. His probation was briefly revoked after an alleged hit-and-run accident. The charge was dropped, but the court ordered him to do another 1,000 hours of community labor. He was also accused of confrontations with rapper Drake and singer Frank Ocean, but charges were never filed.
Brown is set go before a judge on Nov. 20 in Los Angeles for a progress report on his probation. He is expected to return to Washington D.C. on the misdemeanor assault charge on Nov. 25.
