Toddler found wandering streets of Lynwood; mom arrested

LYNWOOD, Calif.

The boy was found by a tow truck driver around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Elm Avenue.

"He stopped and grabbed the boy and got him out of the street, saw a deputy sheriff that was passing by, flagged down the deputy," said Lt. Nathan Dan with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The boy was taken to a hospital to get checked out. He was said to be in good health.

For the next several hours, deputies tried to find the boy's parents or guardians. Deputies said no one had reported the child missing. But by 5 p.m., one of the boy's relatives reached out to the sheriff's department.

The boy's mother has been identified as 20-year-old Asia Ramsey. She was arrested for child endangerment. The sheriff's department says Ramsey lives near the location where the boy was found.

Deputies said the Department of Children and Family Services will investigate the case.
