Authorities responded to the 1400 block of Walnut Avenue around 4:55 p.m. following reports of a person trapped in a confined space.
Responding officers found a worker buried to his waist in mud.
The Long Beach Fire Department Urban Search and Rescue Team responded and extricated the patient. The patient was treated and transported to Saint Mary's Hospital in minor distress.
