Officers responded to the 100 block of Eliza Court in the La Colonia neighborhood around 9 p.m. Monday after hearing and receiving reports of shots fired.
When police arrived, they found 18-year-old Diego Espinoza laying in a walkway. He had been shot once in the knee.
Espinoza was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with a non life-threatening injury, police said.
Police say with help from the public, they were able to locate a possible suspect vehicle in the 5100 block of Columbus Place, and investigators along with SWAT responded. However, no arrests have been made.
