A water main break blew a large sinkhole in a Woodland Hills road on Saturday, causing a traffic mess for drivers.

Southbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard was shut down between Victory Boulevard and Oxnard Street.

Workers had to hammer some wedges into the broken pipe to slow down the water flow. Three commercial customers had their water service knocked out, but it was restored Saturday evening.

One southbound lane of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was reopened after the road was repaired early Sunday. All lanes were back open in the evening.
