The woman's body was found on the 44000 block of Beech Avenue in Lancaster. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called out to the scene at about 6 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say an elderly African-American woman was found dead at the home with some trauma. They did not divulge any other details, but did call the death suspicious.
Officials say the woman lived with her two sons, one of whom found her body in the kitchen area. Both sons were questioned by deputies.
Investigators say there were no obvious signs of a break-in or a struggle.
