Elderly woman killed in Rosemead hit-run; driver sought

ROSEMEAD, Calif.

Authorities say the accident happened around 6:20 p.m. Sunday at Marshall Street and Greendale Avenue. Authorities say the gray SUV was heading westbound on Marshall Street when it hit the elderly woman, who was believed to be crossing the street at the time.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

One witness, who did not want to go on camera, said it all happened so fast that he wasn't able to get a good look at the driver.

Authorities say they have very little information to go on at this time. The car has only been described as a gray SUV. Authorities suspect the car likely has front-end damage to the driver's side grill area.

The SUV reportedly did not have its headlights on when it struck the woman.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
