Rash of Huntington Beach burglaries prompts suspect hunt

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Police say there have been over 20 burglaries in Huntington Beach in the last 60 days. Police believe some of the burglaries are related.

Police say on at least one occasion, three male suspects and a white 4-door Jeep Wrangler with black wheels and paper plates were involved. Images of the car and suspects were captured on nearby surveillance. A small white vehicle was also seen on other occasions, police say.

The break-ins have occurred citywide during the afternoon and early evening hours, with the northwest and southeast sections targeted the most. Police say the suspects typically made entry through a side or rear door or window and took small items like jewelry.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and to lock any doors, windows and gates.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Tip Line at (714) 375-5066, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
