Suspect arrested for 2012 Rowland Heights rape

LOS ANGELES

Authorities say the 29-year-old victim was in her home on Oct. 27, 2012, when she was brutally beaten and raped by the suspect at about 6 a.m. Police said at the time that the suspect got in through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Investigators were able to obtain DNA of the suspect, which was then entered in the Los Angeles County sheriff's crime lab. Detectives got a break in the case due to recently entered DNA resulting in a hit.

Pablo Reyes Bautista was located and arrested in the Atwater Village area of Los Angeles. He had previously lived in Rowland Heights.

Bautista is being held on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
