A local family says their stolen dog, Frida, has been safely returned to them by a woman who was seen on surveillance video with their beloved pet.

The family had offered a $500 reward for the safe return of the 8-year-old canine. The dog disappeared from their yard around Christmastime.

Last Thursday, Frida and the unknown woman were seen on camera at the Animal Medical Center in Van Nuys, miles away from the family's Mid-Wilshire home.

The family believes the woman did not steal Frida like they originally thought. They believe two men stole Frida and the woman happened to come across the dog, recognized the fliers and photos and took the dog to the hospital.

The woman brought the dog back to the Van Nuys vet clinic, where it was finally reunited with its owners. The woman was given the $500 reward.
