Long Beach man arrested for sexually assaulting intoxicated woman

LONG BEACH, Calif.

Steven DeSisto, 52, is accused of meeting the female victim in a Long Beach bar in August 2013. After the woman became intoxicated, DeSisto allegedly transported her to his residence in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Orange Avenue, where the alleged sexual assault took place. The victim fled and called police.

DeSisto was arrested at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday on the 500 block of East 1st Street by members of the Long Beach Police Sex Crimes Detail and Violent Sexual Predator Unit. He was booked on three felony charges and one misdemeanor, including two counts of felony sexual assault, one felony count of drug possession, and one misdemeanor count of photographing an unconscious person.

DeSisto was held at the Long Beach City Jail on $2 million bail pending his scheduled arraignment on Friday.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators believe there may be additional victims who have never contacted police.
