Suspect at large after Huntington Park police chase

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif.

Huntington Park Police issued a warning to residents at 9:35 a.m. to stay indoors and report any suspicious activity during a search for a suspect in the area of Santa Fe Avenue to Cottage Street, Randolph Street to Gage Avenue.

Officers spotted a stolen vehicle at 8:21 a.m. near Pacific Boulevard and Randolph Street and began following the car, according to the department. The suspect vehicle made a quick U-turn and sped off, running through a red light at the intersection of Santa Fe and Randolph, where it struck another vehicle and kept going.

The driver then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Police began searching the area with a police dog but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect remained at large Wednesday afternoon. No description of the suspect was given.

A woman and her child in the suspect vehicle were injured and hospitalized. The vehicle that was earlier struck contained two people, who were also hospitalized. Their conditions were not immediately known.
