Retired Rancho Cucamonga teacher arrested on child sex abuse charges

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.

Paul Aloysius Chapman was arrested on January 10 at his residence on the 9400 block of Morning Crest Place after two alleged victims reported him.

Two female victims who are family members of the accused told investigators that Chapman had sexually abused when they were between the ages of 7 and 10 at his Rancho Cucamonga home, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The alleged incidents took place between 2007 and 2011.

Chapman was held at the West Valley Detention Center on $1 million bail for lewd acts with a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child and oral copulation of a child.

Chapman was a teacher in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District from 1960 to 1997.
