Mid-City house fire kills man, injures 2 women

MID-CITY, LOS ANGELES

Authorities say the fire erupted at a one-story house in the 2300 block of S. Orange Drive just after 5:30 a.m. Flames were contained to one room in the house, and the blaze was called a knockdown in 14 minutes, officials said.

An adult male was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released. Two other women were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and released.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
