Bloomington hit-and-run: Victim's family raising funds for burial

RIVERSIDE, Calif.

Ricardo Valdez, 39, was trying to load a car on his tow truck near the 10200 block of Cedar Avenue just before 2 a.m. Tuesday when another driver hit him and took off.

Valdez was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Maria Ochoa, 30, of Riverside, was later arrested. She faces charges of felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

Valdez's family will hold a car wash fundraiser this Saturday in Riverside on 14th Street, between Park and Victoria avenues. The event starts at 8 a.m.
