The incident occurred at a Chipotle restaurant in the 800 block of East Alosta Avenue at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was eating alone near the back of the restaurant when a dark colored Toyota 4-Runner SUV parked outside the business.
One of the suspects got out of the car, entered the restaurant and grabbed the victim's purse, which was on the ground near her feet. The suspect ran back to the car, where another suspect was waiting behind the wheel.
When the suspects began to drive away, the victim chased after them in an attempt to retrieve her purse. That's when the suspects ran over the victim with the SUV.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The suspects were described as adult Hispanic females. Azusa police released a surveillance image of two females, who they said may have been witnesses or persons of interest. But the two in the image have since been ruled out as suspects.
